Space Mission Three
5-11 November 2016
The third Space Mission UK programme is specially designed around the objectives of the entrepreneurs taking part. This week long trip, taking place from 5-11 November 2016, will take a group of Space entrepreneurs to San Francisco and Los Angeles.
NB. As with all missions, this programme is subject to change – this page will have the latest version and you can follow the mission @innovateuk on Twitter.
Saturday, 5th November
- Morning: Travel – London Heathrow to San Francisco International Airport
- Afternoon: Arrive in San Francisco and check into hotel
Sunday, 6th November
Acclimatisation – day to settle in and leisure activities
- Evening: Welcome to Space Mission 3 (informal meetup)
Monday, 7th November
Mission Programme
- Morning: US Market and Legal brief with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, including speakers from UK Science and Innovation Network, and Department for International Trade
- Afternoon: Bessemer Venture Partners pitch session
- Evening: Silicon Valley Space Center: Investment pitch event, chaired by Dr. Sean Casey, hosted by BootUp
- Informal mission drinks event
Tuesday, 8th November
Mission Programme
- Morning: NASA Ames meeting with Gary Martin
- Space Systems Loral site visit
- Afternoon: SRI International site visit
- Evening: Travel to Los Angeles
Wednesday, 9th November
Mission Programme
- Morning: University of Southern California, David Barnhart (Director, Space Technology and Systems Group & Research Professor, Department of Astronautical Engineering)
- Afternoon: Raytheon company visit
- Evening: Informal meal and drinks
Thursday, 10th November
Mission Programme
- Morning: Meeting NASA JPL, Charles Norton (Program area manager / Principle Research Technologist), and Dr. Tony Freeman (Program Manager)
- Afternoon: Formal Space Mission Pitch Event at British Consulate with a small audience including Amir Blachman, and Robert Jacobson
- Evening: Networking reception at British Consulate
